About The Walk and Talk Movement
The Walk and Talk Movement’s mission is to provide free and fun weekly community walk and talks in local green spaces every Saturday at 10.30am…because health and happiness can be a walk in the park.
We already run five very successful Walk and Talks across Merton.
Over the last twelve months we have walked and talked with more than 3,500 participants, with more than 650 regular participants joining us. Together we have enjoyed more than 150 walk and talks, walked more than 10,000km and enjoyed thousands of conversations. Now we want to grow our impact.
Our free, fun, friendly and inclusive walk and talks give all generations the chance to take a stroll, chat, meet friends, make new ones and help others. We also get involved with fun local community activities.
We are making a real difference to people's health and wellbeing every week.
We get people outdoors, active and enjoying green spaces together. We reduce isolation and loneliness by creating a friendly, safe and inclusive environment to develop important, growing and lasting social impact. We build a sense of community, helping people feel connected and valued, promoting equality and inclusion, connecting multi-generations and giving people a real sense of wellbeing and improved confidence. We put smiles on faces every week.
Our mission is to help local communities every step of the way.
