About The Role

Our Wandsworth Local Champion will work closely with our Directors to launch new walk and talks across green spaces in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

We are launching our first weekly Wandsworth Walk and Talk on the Tooting Commons, then we will work with our Local Champion to identify new Walk and Talk locations and opportunities together.

Working with local community groups and stakeholders, the Local Champion will have the energy, passion and enthusiasm to create a real buzz around new Walk and Talks and build a strong and growing weekly attendance and community.

The Local Champion will also recruit, train and support a strong cohort of volunteers for each walk, to ensure the new Walk and Talk becomes a sustainable and embedded part of the community.

The Walk and Talk Movement will help support our Local Champion with training, materials, communications, connections, advice and referrals.

This role will be an initial 12 month self-employed contractor role starting as soon as possible, based on 11.5 hours a week with flexible working hours. Please note: Saturday mornings will be important to help really launch and establish new Walk and Talks.

This role will be paid at a rate of £750 per month.

Central full-time roles could also be available in the medium-term as we grow across London and the UK.
