Updated: May 8, 2022

To help with our growth, The Walk and Talk Movement is now hiring two enthusiastic and passionate Local Champions to help us set up new walk and talks. Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of local residents?

Do you want to help bring people together again after the awful pandemic? Do you want to really change your community for the better?

About The Walk and Talk Movement The Walk and Talk Movement’s mission is to provide weekly community walk and talks in local green spaces, showing that health and happiness can be a walk in the park. We have already brought many hundreds of local people together from across the community in our proven, popular, successful and growing Wimbledon Park Walk and Talk which takes place every Saturday morning. This offers a chance for all generations to take a stroll, chat, meet friends, make new ones and help others. Our goal is for walkers to meet neighbours and help their neighbours – and to make a real difference to people's health and fitness in a very inclusive and engaging way. Our free walks are open to everybody and here are just some of the benefits: - Helping improve mental health by reducing isolation, building communication opportunities and connecting to and using Merton’s green spaces. - Supporting and improving physical health through friendly, supportive and accessible exercise in local green spaces. - Promoting, encouraging and supporting vital social support and community networks – for all the community and across all of the community. - Creating a friendly, safe and inclusive environment to develop important, growing and lasting social impact. - Building a sense of community, helping people feel connected and valued, promoting equality and inclusion, connecting multi-generations and giving people a real sense of wellbeing. - Putting more smiles on more faces – living well together. We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company working together to improve and transform our local community - one step at a time.
